Description

1) White tells Wheeler of the progress she has made in her holly nursery. She outlines a) the number of plants she has added to her stock, identifying those from cutting he supplied; b) the importance of root differences in trees; c) the shift from planting in rows to the use of groupings called clover-pots. Wheeler responds with a request for more information on growing in pots considering the big Christmas demand for holly. 2) Elizabeth plans and executes a trip to New England with a visit to the Wheelers. She is accompanied by a young friend, Pauline Houck, who will share driving. Includes Falmouth to Boston train schedule and a map drawn by Wheeler.

Wilfrid is misspelled as "Wilfred" on this typewritten copy of the original letter. This was brought to the archives' attention by Wheeler's great-granddaughter Emily Wheeler. Original letters were then found after the copy was accessioned.
