This pamphlet is a reprint from the Proceedings of the American Society for Horticultural Science Vol. 78, 1961. A study was done on the leaves of three holly species grown in sand cultures. The purpose was to determine the composition of the leaves' mineral content and the effects of the sand nutrients as a means of analysis when nutritional problems were encountered.
