Summary: Mr. Gashel interviewed veteran blueberry/cranberry pickers at Whitesbog. The "old timers" compared the current community life in the migrant workers housing complex known as Florence with the way it was several decades prior. Electricity replaced kerosene lamps; transistor radios and television entertained instead of accordions and banjos and Italian folk songs. There are two interesting pictures. A lone woman walks the lane in Florence in the rain and a 12 yr old boy among empty blueberry crates.Collection
