August 26, 1927 – Went thru this interesting old homestead the "birthplace" of Whittier in Haverhill Mass – saw the old desk at which he sat when a small boy; his high boots, his mother's bible, his grand- mother's hope chest, flax wheels warming pans and many curious old things. We certainly had a wonderful and never-to-be forgotten trip!
