Description

Color postcard of the Whittier Birthplace and John Greenleaf Whittier. The west side of the Birthplace is in the center of the postcard, with the stone wall, metal gate, and a tree in the foreground. There are a few shrubs and small trees on the south and west sides of the building, and there are many trees seen in the background. A portrait of Whittier's head as an older man is in the top left corner of the postcard. In the top right corner, black text reads [BIRTHPLACE OF JOHN GREENLEAF WHITTIER, HAVERHILL, MASS.]. On the back of the postcard, there are publisher's and printer's marks and a generic stamp box. The postcard has been used and there are inscriptions alongside the inventory number.
