This children's puzzle depicts the revolutionary Rotolactor at Walker-Gordon farm. It was originally conceived of by Henry Jeffers, Sr. in 1913, but was not finished and unveiled until 1930, after the Borden Company had bought a stake in Walker-Gordon. Cows were led on the rotating platform, attached to milking machines, milked during one revolution of the machine and ferried out to make room for the next round of cows. At its height, the Rotolactor milked around 1,650 cows and produced approximately 26,000 quarts of milk daily!Collection
