Description
While there were a surprising number of sporting periodcial articles featuring articles on wild turkey hunting at the dawn of the 20th, for most hunters across the country, the wild turkey was a mythical creature. By 1900 the wild turkey had been extirpated in much of the country, and remnant populations were not accessible to many hunters. Therefore, while the storytelling and fascination with wild turkeys continued, the lack of opportunity would not sell hunting products such as shotshells. While shell boxes at the time would feature ducks, geese, and smaller upland game birds, the wild turkey was not an image used. Imagine our elation at locating an empty 12-gauge Remington-UMC New Club Loaded Paper Shells box which included an advertising insert featuring a wild turkey! The shotshell collector this was obtained from dated the box to 1914-1922. Whether this insert was used prior to 1914 or after 1922, we don't know.

Notes
The paper has some wrinkles & a tiny paper separation on the lower left plain paper border, maybe 1/16". My understanding this insert with the Turkey is one that is sought after.
