Description

50 Years Hunting Wild Turkeys by Wayne Bailey was published by Penn's Woods Products in 1983. Foreword written by Frank Piper. Wayne Bailey, a professional wildlife biologist and widely considered the father of modern wild turkey research, brings readers a comprehensive book on the art of turkey hunting. Bailey lets the reader know up front that this book is not about biology or the management of the wild turkey; it is instead a step-by-step course on how to pursue this bird successfully. In the 1980s, Bailey and Penn's Woods teamed up to bring hunters a course on hunting wild turkeys, and this book was the "text" used for the course. Over 40 years old, this book is still viewed by many turkey hunters as the best how-to on the skills needed to be a successful turkey hunter.
