American Wild Turkey Society, Inc. calling contest judge certification

Description

The American Wild Turkey Society, Inc. (1989-2006) focused heavily on connecting members, and many fondly recalled the organized hunts it coordinated. Mike Pinger of Sparta, TN, was the founder. In 2006, the A.W.T.S. home office in Sparta, TN, was devastated by a flood, and the publication ceased along with the organization. The A.W.T.S. hosted some turkey call competitions, and in an early newsletter stated "Calling contesta are are a sport in itself." Items shared here from the Don Heckman estate.
