Description

Ben Lee was an early ambassador for modern-day turkey hunting and renowned for his turkey hunting and calling prowess. He developed a line of turkey calls and products. He adapted the trough-style call from Ray Chisholm; with this call, he dubbed the Super Hen. It had an aluminum strip in the trough, and a striker was provided with the call. The calls in photos are from a very early period in Ben Lee's callmaking, as they were sold through Ben Lee Calls (or Lee's Turkey Calls) before being acquired by Wellington Outdoors. This plain white package preceded packaging with color and his logo; there also is no model number of the call identified on this package. Strikers paired with the call would vary over time, but this early one was paired with a "corncob striker." This striker had the corncob top with a wood dowel inserted into it.
