Name/Title
Collapsible Trumpet by Unknown MakerEntry/Object ID
VTC003A0013Description
Shirt pocket calls are just what they say they are, calls that can fit easily into a hunter's shirt or jacket pocket. The utility of such a call is self-explanatory. Many such calls can be found, and this one is a collapsible, or sliding trumpet. It is engineered for the mouthpiece to retract into the bell. When fully extended, the mouthpiece seals firmly without pulling out. The purpleheart (rosewood) mouthpiece is flared and flattened, almost like the wild turkey radius wingbone used in wingbone mouthpieces. Teeth marks are evident on the mouthpiece, much like those of the BGI-style yelpers of an earlier era. The bell is Bakelite. There is what appears to be a Patent number on the bell. This may be a 1950s-era call, and it was found in Pennsylvania.Collection
