Dean "Redbeard" Mundhenke is 67 years old as of March 2026 and is one of the most respected callmakers of our time. He is a software engineer passionate about hunting, fishing, and writing. His callmaking business is MadHatter Calls By Redbeard - Home of the Track Player Turkey Call. He began making calls in 2002 in his basement in Alpharetta, GA. His callmaking inspiration and influence came from Jerry "Dad" White of Dad's Custom Box Calls. He is the innovator of the Track Player Turkey Call, which is trademarked; the carved turkey tracks and medallion cutouts in the back of his pots provide sound ports rather than standard round holes. Redbeard is one of the featured call makers to be commissioned to make calls for the Fox Haas Mossy Oak turkey vest editions 1-10. Many will recognize him from being featured in a short film by Nathaniel Maddux of Slate and Glass Productions, "The Disease."
