Folk Art Pushpin CallEntry/Object ID
VTC003A0009Description
There are turkey calls for which the makers may always remain a mystery, but it does not diminish our appreciation of them even a little. Some of the simplest, most innovative, most beautiful, most crude, and most unique calls are in the realm of folk art turkey calls. That class of calls includes examples that cover all of the aforementioned attributes. Many were built decades ago, even over a century ago, by passionate turkey hunters with what they had or could get. We can't know which served as examples that others later copied, or were themselves fashioned after existing calls. They are all instruments of historical interest and value. This call is a pushpin crafted from repurposed wood, perhaps takend from a cheese box or other type of crate that was available to the unknown but handy maker.Collection
