Johnson Sea-Horse Outboard Motors "Wild Turkey" Dealer Advertisement Wall PlacqueEntry/Object ID
TAFC001A0016Description
While not strictly gun or ammunition related, this 20x18 signage is worth capturing and celebrating as a rare and desirable. In the 1950s, there was a series of Maye Christensem hand-processed art done for Johnson motors with different wildlife. She was an artist and graphic designer, and partner in Associated Advertising in Ontario (who did these).
The back of the placque says "Wild Turkey" by Maye Christensen, This hand processed reproduction is one of a series produced exclusively for Johnson Motors by Associated Advertising Limited, Weston-Ontario, Copyright ~ Made in Canada."
Some handwriting was found under the turkey, which says "S. Black Wild Turkey Dec 1958." The placque is missing the brass plate orginally on the front which would have said "Hand processed from the original by Maye Christensen for Johnson Outboard Motors."Collection
