Description

Mark A. Drury was an accomplished natural voice caller, but would excel at competing on the national stage with diaphragm calls as well. After launching his call company, M.A.D. Calls with brother, Terry, diaphragm calls would figure prominently in his product portfolio. The company was consistently on the edge of innovation, trying something new to appeal to turkey hunters. This call was part of the "Flip Over Series," which was designed to be run on both sides by flipping it over in the mouth. Each side had a reed configuration to replicate a differently pitched call. The Double Split Over S.S. Special was advertised as having "the high sweet yelp of the Double Split Cut" on one side with the "raspy and nasty cutts, cackles and purrs of the S.S. Special." The call was Model MD-116.
