Description

Mark A. Drury is an accomplished person within the wild turkey world. A Grand National Calling Competition champion, he and his brother, Terry, were among the first to start producing turkey-hunting videos in 1989. Like many other professional turkey callers, he started his own company in 1993 using his initials: M.A.D. Calls. The Drury brothers would continue to produce turkey-hunting videos featuring their products and expand to a full line of game calls. Although Mark Drury sold the company in 1997 to Advanced Marketing, the company would continue to make calls for years. One of the most recognizable and successful calls the company sold, The Super Aluminator, was launched in 1996. This was during the height of turkey hunting restoration, with millions of new hunters seeking calls. The call designer was Mike Battey, known for the quality of his pot calls in particular. Battey said this was his breakthrough in the game call industry, with the first order of 25000 units being followed by even more. The call advertised that it produced frequencies exceeding 15,000 hertz, which appealed to turkey hunters seeking to attract gobblers' attention and entice them to gobble. It is model MD300.
