Penn's Wood Products, Inc. Instructions for use of The Rogers Latham Turkey YelperEntry/Object ID
PTC006A0011Description
Frank R. Piper established Penn's Woods Products, Inc. after buying Roger Latham's turkey call business in 1965. Latham had started his business by acquiring the turkey call portion of legendary Tom Turpin's callmaking business in 1957. The "Turpin-style" trumpet yelper thus had a chain of custody through that ownership, which Penn's Woods heavily leveraged in naming its calls and advertising its products. While the company would ultimately name its primary line of trumpets the "Tom Turpin" yelper, its earliest instructions used Roger Latham's name. Note the price of $9.95/ea for the call.Collection
