Description

Perfection Turkey Calls catered to turkey hunters with calls of all styles, including friction calls. One style of friction call, dating back to at least the late 1800s, is the peg and slate call, which evolved to be the "pot call." One surface preferred by many hunters was glass. Glass is water-resistant (as was the acrylic dowel set into the striker paired with this call), and humidity and rain don't affect performance, unlike wood or slate. Using multiple layers of material within the pot produced more complex sounds, similar to multiple reed diaphragms, where vibrations across different surfaces produce a blend that can add rasp or tone. This model was a glass call set in a plastic pot. Grooving at the top of the striker head often provided a point for attaching a lanyard, connecting the striker to the call.
