Description

New tools and technologies have enabled generations of callmakers to innovate new designs. In some cases, the improvements may include ease of use, durability, quality, sound quality and range, cost-effectiveness, and a host of other benefits. Perfection Turkey Calls began in the early 1970s, when pot-call innovation was in full swing. "Pot" calls were so named because they were a new design of the old slate-and-peg, but callmakers such as Jerry Shuman and DD Adams began using a flower-pot rain-catching base to mount the striking surface. Molds were made to create specially designed pots that provided a resonant chamber with holes to emit the sounds. Pictured are a brown and a black pot call blank, which never had surfaces mounted. The molds often contained the company name and address, and visible on these pot call blanks are "Perfection Turkey Calls, Inc. Stephenson, VA.
