Description

Perfection Turkey Calls was co-founded by Virginians Jim Clay and Tom Duvall in the early 1970s. Clay was a high school English instructor and Duvall a high school Woodworking and Industrial Arts teacher. Their timing coincided with the restoration of the wild turkey, and Perfection would be one of the new "modern turkey call companies" riding that wave. Some calls were made in-house and others were outsourced. Diaphragm calls were made in house, and the Regular Red diaphragm call pictured is an early offering, as can be determined from the packaging. Perfection diaphragms early on were offered on a single piece of stiff paper with the diaphragm in a small baggie stapled to the front of the call. This was typical of other manufacturers of the time. Perfection had a color scheme to help identify their calls, as is seen here with the Regular Red call.
