Description

Suction calls are the original turkey call, dating back to the wingbones made by Native Americans. It takes some practice and discipline to master different vocaliztions of the wild turkey with such a call, but are held in high esteem by hunters for their sound quality. Penn's Woods was one company that promoted use of suction calls with their Tom Turpin Yelper. With the ease of friction calls and the cost effectiveness of mouth diaphragms, suction calls were not a major focus of production turkey call companies post wild turkey restoration. Perfection offered at least two suction calls, one being the smaller model pictured here. In tandem with a box call, this suction yelper was part of a limited editions set (circa 1990s). This Perfection suction call is the exact same call that Knight & Hale sold as "The Enticer" and Charles L. Tolley's "Tolley's Turkey Talker."
