A Guide Reminisces About Wild TurkeysDescription
Some Turkey Scratchings, A Guide Reminisces About Wild Turkeys by Dwain Bland was published by Penn's Woods Products in 1983, with an introduction by Penn's Woods owner Frank Piper. Dwain Bland, by all measures, is what you would call an old-school turkey hunter. Bland, a member of the greatest generation, was a tail gunner in World War II who, after surviving the war, went on to become an electrician. Bland traveled the country extensively and completed multiple grand slams with his signature muzzleloader 12-gauge. Some Turkey Scratchings was Bland's first book, followed in time by two additional titles. In Some Turkey Scratchings, the reader will find hunting tales told only the way Bland could. With stories that span the country, Bland will take you on spring hunts out west as well as fall hunts in the east. Stories that will make the reader feel he is sharing a campfire with one of the true legends of turkey hunting.Context
