As a result, many production companies began creating content to showcase their turkey calls and gear, turning the stars of these videos into celebrities. This trend began in 1985, and when "Turkey Hunting with Ben Lee and Friends" debuted in 1989, it was at least the third title featuring Lee, but was still among the first few dozen videos of its kind to hit the market.
