Walter W. Puckette would apply for a patent for an external mouth diaphragm on April 16, 1954. Patent 2,745,215 would be issued for his "Turkey Caller" on May 15, 1956. For turkey hunters with a gag reflex, it may have been a call they sought out. LIke the diaphragm call that Henry P. Bridges originally patented in 1921, these calls had great practicality in allowing the hunter a hands-free call.Created By
