My Wife & I own a mobile dog grooming business. Before that, I was an owner-operator on a bread route for almost 25 years.
Hobbies: Hunting whatever is in season, fishing, and especially catfishing, and gardening.
Began making calls in 2016 in Fredericksburg Va the was J&J turkey calls & now i reside in Essex Co Va where my current shop is . Have since switched the name to JWSCRATCHBOX.
Rick Harro & Curtis Terrell were a big help in getting me started in call making .
I'd say now im more leaning towards folk art style , odd stuff/ materials etc., like EW TRIPP , Jake McCormac etc .
My first calls were along the lines of a Rhodes style , the designed my own from dip can . Several variations of sawn & glued. Did a Cost Style in my version for awhile and still do on occasion.
I came up with new design in 2022 and have used that since. I primarily bulld scratch box calls. Recently, I made a few using barn roof tin & Corian and old wooden boat oars . But , have made several box calls , cane yelpers , peg & slate & tongue calls over the years.Created By
