Harrison Mills, Esq. of Crawford
presented a flag, the American
flag, to the picnickers, & there
she hangs, & long may she wave not
only as an evidence of the givers
liberality, but may it remind us
that under that signal Sarah Wells
was protected in her lowliness, & by its
mighty power Man was promised a
home in this then vast wilderness.
Let us love it & cherish it & as we
meet here year by year raise our
good right hands & swear that we
as a family will never desert it.
"Long may she wave
o'er the land of the free &
the home of the brave."

Sympathetic tears were shed.
Reminiscences of former years
were recalled. Absences caused by
the sickle of the remorseless reaper
death, were noted & a tear fell & a
good word was spoken for the
absent one. But an end must
come to these sweet & sad enjoyments.
The President once more calls to order
& on motion Prof Richard H Bull
of NY is chosen President for the
ensuing year who acknowledged the
choice in a neat speech.
A skillful and obliging Photographer Mr. Gales
from NY was on the grounds who took
many excellent pictures of the
groups present & the neighboring
localities. The other officers of
last year were continued, the
same comm of arrangements also.
The meeting then adjourned to
Wednesday Sept 6th 1876 12.M.
