Minutes of Bull Family Picnic
for
August 25th 1875
Another year has rolled away
and we are assembled again
on this interesting spot. Right-
gladly do we welcome so many
familiar and happy faces.
These meetings are always
tinged by a shade of sadness
on account of the fact that
some familiar face, some dear
form, is absent now that was
here on other occasions, but who
will mingle in these scenes no more
And such is our experience
through all this checkered life, our
joys are mingled with sorrow -
our pleasures with pain, and we
are called to walk through shadow
as well as sunshine.
Let us revive our
recollection of the last meeting here

The day was as fine as any
one could wish, and if it had
been chosen from the past, no
better selection could have been
made. Providence has been kind
to us in giving us always a fine
day for our annual gathering,
let us be thankful for the
same.
The exercises of the occasion
were introduced by prayr by the
Rev Mr Brett. Pastor of Brick Church
Montgomery. After which the minutes
of the last meeting was read by
the Sec, and were approved.
Dinner being then in order,
ample justice was done to the
bounteous repast, the only want
felt if any was the want of
capacity to hold more.
