Dear Mr Jackson
Your letter received and I ask pardon for not answering before as we have relatives from South America visiting whom we have not seen for several years. I mislaid your envelope so will send this to Campbell Hall.
I would be pleased to know your sister if she ever comes to Santa Barbara. My husband I are very comfortable. I still enjoy my home activities. My D.A.R. D.A.C. club etc. Dad told us about our relatives the Brills. I must confess that my step Grandmother was a very peculiar person. She hated my father because he was old enough when she married my Grandfather to realize and cry when she married him. My own Grand mother my Aunt Hannah said was a lovely person. I had a letter from her to Aunt Hannah written in 1848 when they did not use stamps. Aunt Hannah was my Grandfathers sister. Dad was the most brilliant of all the boys Uncle Harry next.
Very Sincerely
Hannah H. Smucker
