Hymeneal Alexander-Presler The wedding of Miss Dorothy Josephine Alexander, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Lothian Alexander, of Leonia, N. J., and granddaughter of the late Susan C. Ostrom of Goshen, and great-granddaughter of the late Dr. J. W. Ostrom, for many years a prominent practicing Homeopathic physician of this village, and Dr. Donald J. Presler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray W. Presler, of Prattsburg, N. Y., took place on Saturday, July 23, in the All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Leonia. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Donald Hartwell Morse, assistant rector of St. Edward the Martyr’s Episcopal Church in New York, and an old friend of the bride’s family. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a dress of beige chiffon and lace, with hat to match, and a corsage. Her sister, Miss Anne Ostrom Alexander, of New York, was maid of honor, and her cousin, Miss Virginia Young, of Bloomfield, N. J., bridesmaid. Harold Presler, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The flower girl was Miss Ruth White, a cousin of the bride. Only members of the two families attended the ceremony. A luncheon followed at the home of the bride’s parents. After a wedding trip, Dr. and Mrs. Presler will reside in Victor, N. Y. The bride was graduated from Schenectady High School in 1926 and from the Ithaca College of Music in 1930. For the past two years she has been supervisor of music in the high schools at Narrowsburg and Eldred, N. Y. For 15 years she studied piano under the late Mrs. Hattie Leonard Colburn of Schenectady, and at college was a pupil of Oscar Ziegler, famous virtuoso. She is a member of the D. A. R. and is descended from Ed- ward Howell, founder of Southampton, L. I., and members of the Plymouth Colony of Massachusetts. Her ancestor, John Carpenter, whose descendants settled in Goshen in the 18th Century, gave the land for the Presbyterian Church of this village. She is also a member of the Sarah Wells and William Bull Family Association of America. Dr. Presler attended Franklyn Academy at Prattsburg, N. Y., and was graduated from Cornell University last June.
