A GOLDEN WEDDING.
Mr. and Mrs. D. Kerr Bull of Macon Street Were Married in 1852.
Mr. and Mrs. D. Kerr Bull of 567 Macon street celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage on Tuesday evening by a reception at. their home. The parlors were thronged throughout the evening by relatives
and friends from this and adjacent cities and from Orange County, N. Y. The wants of the inner man were most bountifully supplied and the occasion was a most enjoyable one to all present. The old time bride and
groom were in apparent health and vigor, and bid fair to see many anniversaries yet of their wedding day. Their son, Dr. Sidney
W. Bull of 118 Tompkins avenue, and wife, and their son-in-law, Evans Boyd, and his four children were present. D. Kerr Bull and Maria S. Webb were married in Monroe, Orange County, N. Y., May 20, 1852, by Dr. N. E. Smith, a daughter of whom was present at this fiftieth anniversary.
Mr. Bull is a lineal descendant of the locally celebrated Sarah Wells and William Bull, who, about two hundred years ago, built and
occupied the first substantial house erected in Orange County, a stone one, which is still standing in the Town of Hamptonburgh. He
is the son of Harry Bull of the Town of Crawford, Orange County, the sole survivor of a family of fourteen children. He has been engaged in educational work for fifty-six years, having been successively
principal of the academy at Montgomery, N.Y.; at Middletown, N. Y.; of the Friends' Institute, New York City, while the last twenty-five years of his work was in connection with institutions in this city. He still keeps in touch with the busy world, manifesting great interest in all that affects the instruction of the young and in all projects that have for their end the welfare of his fellow men.
