As the executor of the estate of my late sister Evelyn I wish to inform you that Evelyn made a bequest to the Association for the purpose of the maintenance of the Stone House. The part of her Will pertinent to this bequest is as follows:
Excerpts from the Will
All the rest and residue of my estate, not hereinbefore disposed of, I DEVISE AND BEQUEATH in the following manner;
Twenty percent (20%) thereof to the William Bull and Sarah Wells Stone House Association, Inc. Bull Stone House, Campbell Hall, New York, U.S.A. 10916 for general purposes of that association respecting the maintenance of the Stone House, contents thereof and related family items, or in accordance with any particular requests set out in a memorandum which I may leave with a copy of my Will.
Closing Remarks
No memorandum was left.
I have dispensed all of the bequests of fixed amounts. There are still legal and consulting expenses to be met. Also since a sizable fraction of the estate was in various tax shelters there will be a substantial income tax deduction, once these sums are brought out of the tax shelters. Consequently at the present time it is difficult to estimate the amount of this bequest. I have retained an income tax consultant to prepare the income tax returns and when he is finished I will be able to pay all of the expenses and then distribute the residue. As soon as possible I will be in touch with you.
Could you please let me know to whom further correspondence should be addressed and who or what organization cheques, or bank drafts, should be made out to.
