D'Anieri 1229 Godfrey Lane Schenectady N.Y. 12309 23 July 1993 To: Mike Brown Jean Garbe Millie Hutchinson A few weeks ago I gave you each a copy of a document I had stumbled on entitled "A List of The Inhabitants at The West of The Highlands in The County of Orange; 1715". I told you I would try to find out where it came from. Well I've had some success. I found the original in the N.Y. State Archives and was able to obtain a much better copy, so I'm enclosing an improved copy for each of you. The document is listed in Edmund B. O'Callaghan's "Calendar of British Historical Manuscripts in The Office of The Secretary of State, Albany, New York, Part II, 1664-1776" (Albany: Weed Parsons and Co., 1866). The original is filed as page 56 in "New York Colonial Manuscripts, Box 97, Volume 60, Part I, Pages 1-103, 1715-1717", which is under N.Y. State Archives Call Number A1894. Knowing its source, I would say that this document definitively establishes what was previously surmised from indirect evidence in the Bull/Welles History by McWhorter et al; namely that William Bull was in Orange County, N.Y. by the summer of 1715.
