Know all men by these presents that I Joel Tuthill of the precinct of Cornwall in the
County of Orange and province of New York Administrator of all and Singular the Goods
and Chattles Rights and Credits of John Gilbert and Josiah Gilbert Junr. both of the County
and province Afforesaid Deceased who Died Intestate Do by these presents Own &
Acknowledge To have Received of and From Silas Pierson of the precinct County and
province Afforesaid One of the Executors of the Last Will and Testament of Caleb
Gilbert of the County & province Afforesaid Late Deceased the Sum of Four pounds
Fourteen Shillings and Seven pence New York Currency And Do Also Own and
Acknowledge To have Received of and From Elizabeth Birdsey Widow and Executrix
of the Last Will and Testament of Samuel Birdsey Late of the County of Ulster and
Province Afforesaid Deceased (the Other Exectr. of the Last Will and Testament of
the Said Caleb Gilbert Deceased) the Sum of Twenty Six pounds Nineteen
Shillings and three pence like Current Money Afforesaid, In consideration of which
Two Sums of Money Received as Afforesaid, I the said Joel Tuthill Have Remised
Released and Quit Claimed And by these presents Do For me my Exectrs. and
Administrators Remise Release and For Ever Quit Claim unto them the Said Silas
Pierson and Elizabeth Birdsey their Heirs Exectrs. and Adms. and Every of them of and
From all Legacies Gifts Bequeaths Sum and Sums of Money and Demands Whatso
ever Bequeathed and Given Unto them the Said John Gilbert and Josiah Gilbert
Deceased, in and by the Last Will and Testament of the said Caleb Gilbert Deceased
And of and From all manner of Actions and Suits, Cause or Causes of Actions and
Suits, Sum and Sums of Money Debts Duties Reckonings Accompts and Demands
Whatsoever Which I the Said Joel Tuthill as Admr. Afforesaid Ever had, now have or that
I my Exectrs. or Adms. Can or May At any time or times Hereafter Have Challenge or Demand
against them the Said Silas Pierson and Elizabeth Birdsey or Either of them their or
Either of their heirs Exectrs. or Adms. For or by Reason of any Matter Cause or thing
Whatsoever From the Beginning of the World untill the Day of the Date Hereof And
Lastly the said Joel Tuthill for himself his Heirs Exectrs. and Adms. Doth Covenant promise
And Agree To and with them the said Silas Pierson and Elizabeth Birdsey their heirs
Exectrs. and Adms. That he the said Joel Tuthill His Heirs Exectrs. or Adms. Shall & Will
from Time to time and at all Times forever hereafter Save Harm Less and Keep Indemp
nified the said Silas Pierson and Elizabeth Birdsey their heirs Exectrs. and Adms. and
Every of them of and From all Costs Damages and Demands Whatsoever which Shall
Hereafter Be or Accrew, For or by Reason or Means of the Said Silas Pierson and
Samuel Birdsey Being Exectrs. of the last Will and Testament of the Said Caleb
Gilbert Deceased In Witness whereof the said Joel Tuthill Hath hereunto Set
His hand and Seal the Fifth Day of April in the Year of Our Lord 1768
