In the name of God Amen. I John Shaw of
the Town of Wallkill County of Orange
and State of Newyork, being week and feble in Body but of sound disposing mind and memory bleed be almighty God for the
same do make and publish this my last
will and testament in manner and form
following (that is to say) 1st I will and bequeath
unto my beloved Wife Susannah Shaw that part
of my present dwelling house which I built first
with the furniture therein and what kitchen
furniture nessesary for her convenience
three Beds and Bedding what cellar and Chamber Room she may want for her family in the Garden and small lot adjoining
next the Barn one half of all the fruit that
shall grow on the farm the loom and tackle
appertaining thereto, what wood of such
timber which shall be dead or decayed -
two cows of the choice of my flock with the
privilege to raise a calf every two years
and to keep the same until two years old
Six Geese to be kept in winter and them and
there increase in summer with what fowls
Necessary for family in two Swine kept
on the farm Summer and winter the said
Cows also kept for her on the farm both
Sumer and winter until the sale of the farm
as is herein after mentioned unless she should
marry or decease before that period in either
which cases the above property herein bequeath
shall be sold by my executors and the money
put to use for the benefit of my five children (towit)
Sally, Marieco William Alexander
W. and Robert O. Shaw to be paid to them
in equal parts as they respectively arrive at
the age of twenty-one years. The remainder of
my personal property I wish should be sold within
one year after my decease at the discretion of my
Executors and the money arising from this Sale to
be applied to the discharge of my debts and if
there should be a surplus after the discharge of my
debts I wish it to be put out to use and applied in manner afforesaid
but if insufficient for the discharge
of all my debts I wish my Executors to discharge them
from the proceeds of my farm as soon as may be
and the remainder of rents issues and proffits arising
from said farm before the sale I wish them to put
to use and apply for the benefit of my Children as
afforesaid. unto my son William I give the Colt which
I now own and order him kept on the farm untit
three years old and then sold and the money ariving from the Sale put to use for his benefit
and paid to him when he shall arrive at twenty
one years my three sons William Alex W. and
Robert O. I wish to be kept at school as much as
possible until they arrive at Seventeen years
of age and then bound to trades or professions of
their choice at the discretion of my Executors
and at the time that my Youngest Son Robert
O. shall shall arrive to the age of Seventeen years
I wish my Executors to sell all my real estate
and the moneys arising from said Sale divided
Equally between my five Children above named
and paid to them as fast as they arrive to the
age of twenty five years with the interest
and in case either of my children should de-
-cease before they arrive to that age then the

part belonging to them shall be divided equally among their surviving Brothers and Sisters and in case either of my daughters
should decease leaving issue then the bequeath to them I wish to be paid to them with interest when they shall arrive to the age of twenty
one years - my lot of land in Thompson I
wish my Executors to dispose of to the best advante and as soon as possible after my decease and the money arising from it to apply with
interest to my children equally as above
mentioned = my funeral I wish to be conducted
with as decency and with no extraordinary
expence at the discretion of my Executors and
lastly I nominate Constitute and appoint
my beloved wife Susannah Shaw Executrix
and Daniel Wilson Benjamin Woodward &
William Shaw Junr. Executors of this my last
will and testament, hereby revoking and utter=
=ly disallowing all former wills or Wills by
me at any time heretofore made hereby
publishing and declaring this to be my
last will and testament in the presence
of - Dated Wallkill Feby. the 5th 1818 -
