Description

My dear Jane:- I don’t like being formal— don’t know how I guess— so I’m going to write ~~my~~ ^our^ acceptance this way. It certainly is lovely of you all to remember us— way up here— & we shall be delighted to accept the invitation— It is done with alacrity & anticipation, too— now— so many deaths of people whom we all know. On Tues. afternoon is Mrs. Quackenbush’s funeral— Emmett’s mother— Remember whom I mean? The one I made the pillow for— Seems awfully sad. Her son lost his wife about a year ago, too. Don’t it seem good to have a few nice warm spring days? Made any garden yet? Mr. Bull planted his will be very glad to bring Henrietta with us. Hope it will get rained out before Friday— can’t be much water left any- way. Am trying to get settled & am fairly well so now. Do want you people to come & see us when we get “all fixed”. We are having a very sad time around Florida potatoes? Thanking you all for our in- vitation & hoping you may have a pleasant evening I am, with love to all, very sincerely, Maude E. Durland Florida, N. Y. April 13” 1913.
