June 1831Ebenezar I have a suit depending on Saturday next at James Mapes Campbell Hall wherein Giles Goodrich is plaintiff & myself defendant –I think your witness will be necessary & therefore shall have to subpoena you – I want to see you here first – and shall take it very friendly in you if you will come over here any time tomorrow – if not convenient tomorrow any time next day if you send word by my Daughter Susan when I may expect you that I may not be absent – I hope it is the last time I shall ever call on you in such a shape Geo.
