Subject

Mrs. Margaret Crawford Jackson It has not escaped your notice that protests against the storing or using of ice taken from the Hudson at the point where the Rondout creek empties. You are aware that the Wallkill joins it near Rondout. The Rondout takes the sewage of all the villages and towns as far south as Napanoch. I need hardly say that a vast bulk of objectionable stuff goes down it. The Wallkill receives the sewage of many towns and villages from above Goshen & Middletown. If the N. Y. Health Dept does the right thing it will order all these sources of pollution ________________________________________ Page 2 (Left Side of Image) diverted from these streams within a reasonable time. And there is a strong movement in that direction by influential and wealthy people. Again. Revenons a nous moutons. The N. Y. City Board of H. is highly excited on the subject of Tuberculosis in the farmer's milk herds. This Wallkill the use of which the riparian dwellers are entitled to have in its natural purity, is now defiled and empoisoned by the vile sputa of the Tuberculous people of Middletown and Goshen. The animal that drinks of it or the bather who by chance imbibes a mouthful of it, is likely to be contagioned with the germ of Tuberculosis. This is a very strong point. Middletown sputa Tuberculosis the Dairyman's milkers Page 3 N.Y. city Board of Health will soon take this matter in hand. Perhaps all this has occurred to you, but it has not appeared in so strong as light as when I read what the N. Y. city folks are on the point of doing. I also received from the Hatch Ex: Station A Bulletin on the use and effect of Tuberculin. Very respectfully William Bull Middletown R. F. D 2 March 6th 1907
