Bull Family Make Corrections
To the Editor of the Press: A copy of your paper of August 11th containing an account of the Bull family was forwarded to me and I read your account with interest. There is one particular, however, in which it would tend to create a mistaken impression and I would greatly appreciate it if you would correct the same. It is with regard to the purchase of the old stone house property at Hamptonburgh, N. Y., of which your paper says that "a scheme is now under consideration for a collection of a fund in which the Canadian and American members of the family will co-operate for the purchase and maintenance of the old home." As a matter of fact the property has already been bought for the sum of $13,500, all of which has actually been paid in cash excepting $2200, and no difficulty is anticipated in ta- king care of that balance in due course. No effort has ever been made to obtain money from the Canadian branch of the family, and while any contributions they might wish to make would, of course, be welcomed it is not contemplated to make any appeal to them. Your paper also said that the annual reunion is held in New York City each year. As a matter of fact it is held at the Stone House in the Town of Hamptonburgh, Orange Co., N. Y., a distance of about 70 miles from the city. Very truly yours, R. W. L. JACKSON. New York, Sept. 12, 1925.Relationships
