Bull Family Organization Chooses Woman President Annual Gathering Returned to Former Day, Last Wednesday in August GOSHEN-Mrs. Amy Bull Crist of Montgomery was elected president of the Bull Family Association by managers Saturday after her report that attendance on Wednesday was approximately 200 members of the family present at the sixty-ninth annual picnic and reunion in the park of the Hamptonburgh Stone House. The association also re-established the last Wednesday of August as the official date for the day of the annual gathering. Although most of the 300 members, guests and friends of the family present are of Orange County, there were, as usual, a number of visitors from distant parts of the country. The prize for the greatest distance traveled to the meeting went to Mrs. Anna Booth Williams of Houston, Texas. Also present was Mrs. Mary Ackley Holt of Jacksonville, Fla. Hamlet S. Roe of Chester, Jesse F. Zabriskie of Hackensack, N. J., and Mrs. Bernard L. Ackerly of Crystal Run, were elected by the family to the Board of Managers. Mr. Roe and Mrs. Zabriskie were re-elected and Mrs. Ackerly succeeds Miss Dolly Booth, who declined reelection. Charles W. Tuthill of Campbell Hall was selected to serve the un- expired term of the late Albert C. Bull, president of the association, who died January sixth. Miss Phebe Slaughter Bull of Warwick was elected for one year to fill the vacancy created on the board by the resignation of Miss Cornelia Hawkins. Tellers for the election were Pierson Booth, C. B. Howell and Clarence Knight. The board of managers, convening after the general business session, named Mrs. Crist as president and designated Hamlet S. Roe to succeed her as vice-president. Robert McLeod Jackson of Hamptonburgh and New York, and Ernest M. Bull of Blooming Grove were re-elected secretary and treasurer respectively. The question of whether the association should meet on the last Wednesday or Saturday in August was settled by an overwhelming vote in favor of the old arrangement. Mrs. Crist explained the notices calling the meeting for last Saturday had been sent out in error as that was not the final Saturday of the month. Objections to the date were based on the fact that many members of the family work in stores on that day. Mrs. Crist also said in attendance at the picnic would have been considerably better had not members of the group gone to Middletown for the Fair and races. Mrs. Harry Bull reported realization by the family of $100 as its share of profits from an antique sale held in conjunction with the Hamptonburgh Presbyterian church at Campbell Hall. Mr. Jackson reported gift of three shares of Chester National Bank stock worth $450 by the late Albert C. Bull and $100 by Theodore D. Moore of Yonkers. Mrs. Crist informed the group that a set of three antique brass kettles, only owned by Miss Rachel Ward Farrington had been presented to the Stone House by Mr. Jackson. Mr. Jackson reported receipt of a telegram from William P. Bull of Charleston, S. C. unable to attend at eighty, and many letters at- miring reunion picnics. A resolution commending Mr. Bull's interest was adapted. Communications from Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bull of Buffalo; William R. Bull of New York, and Andrew S. Beyea, of Smithtown, New Brunswick, expressing the family's inability to attend the meeting were read by Mr. Jackson. A resolution also was passed commending the services of Mrs. Margaret Dill Halligan as secretary of the family for a number of years.
