Time Runs Out at Age 94 For Model in Prize Photo
By GRADY COBB
Time has run out for the old clock and busy knitting hands
for good. Elizabeth Bull Greene, who was 94 years old, died Saturday in her Harpursville New York home. She was a direct descendant of William Bull and Sarah Wells, early colorful, early settlers of Orange County.
LIVED ALONE William Bull built the stone buildings at Bull Stone House and
she built himself a large stone house in Stony Ford. Mrs. Greene, who lived her shores for the last 15 years in Sidney with her niece, Mrs. Charles Becker, died in a sudden heart attack in the shelter of the old clock. The final ticks in her small stone home in 1941 as weather permits. She said on skiing
it was built has arrived from King George III. Like her ancestor Sarah
Wells, she was active until her death at the age of 102. She, indeed, took a photo of years ago, walked from her home in Stony Ford in the market ten miles away and practically walked to the country, a distance of eight miles. WON PHOTO PRIZE
The accompanying picture appeared on the front page of The Sunday Press in December, 1948, when Mrs. Greene graciously posed in a Windsor
chair by the grandfather clock in the home of Mr. and Mrs.Philip Bull of Hampton, Orange County. The picture was a State Fair winner for State Congersmment photographer of The Press. Funeral services for Mrs.
Greene were held Tuesday in Sidney. Among her survivors are a brother, Harry, who is 86, and another brother, 84. A sister died a short time ago at 92.
