The Event: More than 200 members of the Bull family gathered in Campbell Hall, NY, for their 142nd annual family reunion. The family consists of roughly 10,000 descendants of William Bull and Sarah Wells, who were among the first white settlers in Orange County.
The Milestone: The main celebration focused on a newly completed, historically accurate $40,000 slate roof for their 1718 Dutch barn.
Funding & Support: State Senator William Larkin secured a $25,000 historical restoration grant to help fund the project, with the family presenting him with a photo sequence of the homestead in gratitude.
Future Plans: The family association plans to seek further grants to repair and restore the main 1722 homestead.
Festivities: The reunion featured genealogy studies, tours, and a re-enactment of William and Sarah’s wedding in period-accurate clothing, which was also scheduled to be performed at Goshen's bicentennial country fair.
