The Secretary has received the following letter: Chester, New York June 24, 1947
Mr. Robert McLeod Jackson, Secretary
Dear Mr. Jackson:
Miss Edna Tuthill of Birmingham, Alabama, formerly of Craigville, N.Y., has sent to me the Sarah Wells wedding dress to be presented to our Association in memory of her late mother, Julia R. Tuthill. The dress is made of homespun linen decorated with colored flowers in woolen crewelwork. It will be exhibited at the picnic and worn by my granddaughter Miss Martha Jane Carpenter of Chester, a descendant of the eighth generation through the tribe of Mary. It will be worth an extra effort to attend our re-union just to see this beautiful and historic wedding dress. Sincerely yours,
Hamlet S. Roe
President
