The People of the State of New York, to
Elijah R. Smith
WE COMMAND YOU, That all business and excuses being laid aside, you and each of you appear personally before the Surrogate of the County of Orange, at his office in the Village of Goshen on the 29th day of November inst. at ten o’clock in the forenoon of said day, to testify and give evidence in the matter of the estate of Silas Youngs, deceased, now pending before the said Surrogate. And for a failure to attend, you will be deemed guilty of a contempt of Court, and liable to pay all loss and damage sustained thereby to the party aggrieved and forfeit FIFTY DOLLARS in addition thereto.
