Scope and Content

27 May, 1970 MRS. F. H. B. CLINCH 1600 GORDON AVENUE CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. 22903 Wm Bull & Sarah Wells Family Assn. Inc. c/o M. K. Brown R. D. #1 Campbell Hall, N. Y. 10916 Dear Mr. Brown - I have been in correspondence for some months with Mrs. McWhorter concerning some family mementos which I feel should be placed in safe keeping for the interest of all members of the Bull Family Assoc. She suggests that I send them to you to be placed in the [Page 2] glass case which I notice from a postcard of the interior of the Stone House is above a secretary. The bracelet made from the hair of Isabella Jackson Wilkin could easily go there I should think. There are also two small books—one belonging to Richard Jackson, my great-great grandfather, and the second to Mary Martha Wilkin, sister of my grandmother, Sarah Bull Wilkin Bogert. I am living in a Retirement Home and have little room for anything but current necessities. [Page 3] MRS. F. H. B. CLINCH 1600 GORDON AVENUE CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. 22903 I feel strongly that things of the past which are representative of the past should be preserved if possible. I hope places may be found where these little articles can be protected and free from dust. Yours sincerely, Frances H. B. Clinch Bracelet made with the hair of Isabella Jackson Wilkin (1795-1861) wife of Thomas Denton Wilkin. The use of hair in making jewelry was common at the time. In glass case value?
