Scope and Content

BOND. Printed and sold by Parmenter & Spalding, Newburgh Know all men by these presents, THAT I John Brown of the Town of Blooming Grove County of Orange State of New York am held and firmly bound unto Fredrick H. Brewster in the sum of Five hundred Dollars lawful money of the United States of America, to be paid unto the said Fredrick H. Brewster or to his certain attorney executors, administrators, or assigns. For which PAYMENT well and truly to be made, I bind myself my heirs, executors, and administrators, firmly by these presents. Sealed with my Seal Dated the 18th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Thirty five. The Condition of this Obligation is such, That if the above bounden John Brown his heirs, executors, or administrators, or any of them, shall and do well and truly PAY, or cause to be PAID, unto the above-named Fredrick H. Brewster or to his certain attorney executors, administrators, or assigns, the just and full sum of two hundred and fifty Dollars in the manner and form following fifty Dollars on the 18th day of February 1836 with the interest that may be due. and fifty Dollars on each succeeding year with the interest until the whole is paid then the above Obligation to be VOID, otherwise to remain in full FORCE and VIRTUE. SEALED AND DELIVERED IN THE PRESENCE OF Thos. Brewster John Brown PAGE 2 Recd. May 16th 1836 Seventeen Dollars 50 cts it being for one year interest on the within Bond Recd. Feby 28th 1837 one years interest on the within Bond Recd. July 1st 1837 Thirty four Dollars on the within Bond & Duplicate state Recd. July 1st 1838 twenty four Dollars 78 cts being the interest up to this day and one hundred and fifty Dollars on the principle of this Bond Recd. July 1st 1839 Seven Dollars being the Amount of years interest on this within Bond Recd. July 1st 1839 Forty Dollars principle on the within Bond Recd. January 1st 1841 Sixty two Dollars 10 cts in full of the within Bond for Fred. H. Brewster John Brown Bond $250
