To Cousin E. Bull I have been washing today and do not feel much like writing this eve, and if I make some blunders you will please excuse - We are all in usual health and jogging along after the old sort - Have a couple of boarders now - A young lady who teaches a select school here & her sister - Very agreeable company - Our children are growing finely - Frank Emmet (as we call the boy) is a bouncer & to all appearance healthy - We have a pleasant winter but no snow to make sleighing - Some very cold days last week but warm again today - We have but little news of importance to relate - The young people are having very lively times - There a knock at the door - Oh! a gentleman called to see Miss Hatch our boarder - S- called this afternoon upon Mrs. L. Whipple formerly Miss Lambert, she has a daughter one day old, & is quite smart - The Telegraph wires are stretched past our door now but we have no office here - They have offices at Aurora and St Charles - Wm. E. Sayre & lady made us a visit on New Years are well - Have four children -
[Page 2] Amos was in Chicago last week and saw Jason McCord - He has been sick with the rheumatism & is still confined to his room with a swelled knee - something like dislocation caused by rheumatism - We have received no answer to our last letter but write to request a favor of you - That you will take this check and take up the note which Harrison holds and send it to us, some time when you write - This note was to be paid when the money from Andrews was sent - He has paid $140, and we notified H. of it - He answered the letter but said nothing about the money - We have written again and will send the money to him as soon as it is all paid if he will give us directions about it - Amos wishes the note preserved and sent to him because it is mentioned in the receipt that H. gave to him & he wishes to keep it with the other papers - Wed eve 22nd Isaac Van Duzer & Halsey are in this country we understand, though we have not seen them, They have taken quite a large contract on the Chicago and Galena railroad west of Elgin - A lady has called to spend the eve & I must close - Our regards to all not forgetting yourself & Cousin Jane - Please write soon & often - Your much obliged Friend P. Moore agt for A. M. Moore
P.S. Please write immediately and let us know whether it goes safeRelationships
