Enclosed is check No. 77700 on Fulton Bank for $26.00 Two Dollars in full of your charge for 88 lbs of Butter as increased. Please receipt the enclosed bill and return by mail. You will at least admit that we have obtained a supply of winter butter for two seasons past under difficulties, since last winter two thirds of what was received was only fit for cart wheel grease! and no allowance was offered; and this winter since we have to pay an advance on the previous price of 10 percent! All of which goes to prove, at least, that the adage is wrong, and that there is, some time, “friendship in trade.”
Yours resp’y
