Paging Bart:
Please say to your most interesting and engaging man that I submitted a twig purloined from the formidable tree in your lower side yard to the department of dendrology of the College of Forestry at Syracuse and Mr. Harlow, Ass't Professor of Wood Technology informs me that he can "see no reason for not calling this common honey locust" - that it is, simply, "Gleditsia-triacanthos" of the family "Leguminosae" and suggests that "when planted in rows and trimmed (indeed!) makes a very exclusive hedge". It might, I might add, serve as a most effective deterrent to persistant church canvassers in search of prey.
What do you aver?
