Dear Cousin All:—
Thanks so much for the interesting letters and report of the Annual Bull Picnic that you sent & one and which I have read with much pleasure and am keeping for future reference.
With labor, sport and visitors the summer has passed so quickly that I do not seem to know where it has gone but through it all there is a sense of disappointment that among our guests were not numbered our Bull cousins from Orange County, N.Y. and our honored Mother President; Mrs. Amy Bull Crist.
Just now we here in N.Y. are greatly disturbed by an outbreak of Infantile Paralysis and our public schools are all closed until Oct. 1st. We hope with cooler weather it may ease.
Thanks again for your ready acquiescence to Jean Hoeffler’s coming to visit you and I trust you will find her most agreeable. Jean by the way is an American Citizen and her home from her birth has always been in the State of New York. Her mother was born here in Smithtown and she and I were always friends. She was very much interested in the Bull descent and was intending to take in the Bull Picnic but four years ago she was killed in an auto accident — and Jean who is now in her 29th year is most anxious to carry out what her mother intended to do.
She was here this summer and wished me to introduce her to some of the family who lived near the Old Shine House.
We are all quite well and have enjoyed a warm dry summer and are now beginning to prepare for another winter which will probably be more severe than was last winter.
Mrs. Higby who you met here last year is again visiting us and wishes to be remembered to you all. All the members of our family here join me in sending love and best wishes.
Yours Most Sincerely,
Andrew S. BeyerRelationships
