## **Part 2: The Collector’s Warrant (Middle Section)**
**To the Collector of Dist. No 1 of the town of Hamptonburgh in the County of Orange**
You are hereby commanded to collect from each person in the annexed rate bill named the several sums therein named together with one per cent on all sums paid within two weeks from the receipt hereof and five percent on all sums thereafter paid as your fees, and within thirty days after receiving this warrant to pay the amount so collected by you excepting your fees into the hands of the Trustees or one of them. And in case any person therein named shall neglect or refuse to pay the amount set opposite his name as aforesaid you are to levy the same by distress and sale of the goods and chattels of such person or persons.
Given under our hands this the 6th day of April in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four.
